Hello! My name is Eva. I am an artist from Peoria. I spend a lot of time on
the internet gathering new ideas and finding new opportunities to create
something that equally expresses my personality and the fun I have
finding new opportunities and friendships in Phoenix. I've created posters
for events around the valley, such as concerts, art shows, movies, and
community events that highlight our beautifully diverse neighborhood. I
worked for a local band named Sunlaand from 2016 - 2018, creating
merchandise like stickers, t-shirts, posters and advertisements. I found
my art being shared by Ed Banger Records frequently in these years which
gained traction, and in 2019, I began participating in art competitions
sponsored by my high school, where I won a few awards recognizing my
illustrations. I later worked with independent filmmaker Matthew
Youngblood to create several movie posters for award-winning projects
like "It's Me" in 2021. My art found its way to appear in other works like the
band Crumb's music video for "Amama" in 2024. Though I have
participated in many art events, my accomplishments have stemmed
from the ones I have coordinated by myself at Casa del Rio Apartments. I
was assigned at my job to create an event for the residents as a leasing
consultant and found it as an avenue to include the connections I've
made throughout the years. My main goal was to create something more
than just an event, but a celebration of individuality and networking of
like-minded artists. I wanted to curate stations that made being creative
feel like a trait that everyone has and needs to be nurtured with collage
tables, interactive murals, and vendors with a passion for their vocation
of art to tell their stories. This year, my mission is to re-tell my own tales as a
second-generation immigrant about the independence from traditional
cultural values by warping the boundaries of religion, gender, and
corporate America in my works to survive in a divided
society.
